No. TapTap Records does not acquire rights to an artist's music. The masters remain the artist's and no assignment is signed.

No. There is no royalty split. The artist keeps 100% of the income their catalogue generates.

How is TapTap Records different from a traditional record label?

A traditional label invests in the artist and is repaid with their property: a recoupable advance, assignment of masters, and a percentage of income for years. TapTap does not buy a share of the artist's career. It provides the infrastructure - distribution, planning, royalty tracking, specialists - through a membership, and the artist keeps ownership and control of their music.

Is TapTap Records a music distributor?

Global distribution is included, but that is not all it is. A distributor delivers music to the platforms. TapTap adds the career management layer that normally exists only inside a label: release planning, royalty tracking, campaigns and access to vetted professionals.

Can any artist join TapTap Records?

Accepted Answer

No. Access is by application and every project is reviewed before an invitation is sent. It is not an open sign-up platform.

What happens if I leave TapTap Records?

Accepted Answer

The artist keeps their masters and their catalogue, because they never assigned them. There are no rights to recover and no advances to repay.
